MUDRAS FOR SPECIFIC DISEASES

Kati Mudra (Back pain)

RIGHT HAND: Join the tips of Thumb, Middle finger and Little finger; keeping other two fingers straight.

LEFT HAND: Fold the Index finger, place it on the inner side of the middle joint of the Thumb, and place the Thumb joint on the nail of the Index finger. This is like half VAYU MUDRA.

Duration: 5 minutes four times a day.

Benefits: Kati means back. This Mudra cures strained back. Back pain is a common problem these days. Very often, back pain is caused and suddenly by a jerk or wrong posture or a sudden bending forward. Lack of exercise makes our back muscles inflexible, causes weakness in ligaments and disk spaces. Sudden movement or lifting of heavy weights or lifting of heavy weights causes severe back pain and in such condition and cripples our movements for a few days. This Mudra is very useful in Back ache. The half VAYU Mudra made by left hand relieves pain while Akash and Varun jointly by right hand provides flexibility to back muscles by increasing water content in the body and increases calcium supply to bones.

In severe backache, no exercise should be done. Just lie down on the floor on your back, fold your legs from knees and place both legs (from knees to feet) on a chair or table; do this Mudra and relax.
