place it on the inner side of the middle joint of the Thumb, and place the
Thumb joint on the nail of the Index finger. This is like half VAYU MUDRA.

Benefits: Kati means back. This Mudra
cures strained back. Back pain is a common problem these days. Very often, back
pain is caused and suddenly by a jerk or wrong posture or a sudden bending
forward. Lack of exercise makes our back muscles inflexible, causes weakness in
ligaments and disk spaces. Sudden movement or lifting of heavy weights or
lifting of heavy weights causes severe back pain and in such condition and
cripples our movements for a few days. This Mudra is very useful in Back ache.
The half VAYU Mudra made by left hand relieves pain while Akash and Varun
jointly by right hand provides flexibility to back muscles by increasing water
content in the body and increases calcium supply to bones.
In severe backache, no exercise
should be done. Just lie down on the floor on your back, fold your legs from
knees and place both legs (from knees to feet) on a chair or table; do this
Mudra and relax.
