Live objects attract beneficial energy. By caring and nurturing plants, pets and keeping aquariums, positive energy can be generated in a house provided you ensure that they are looked after well.

Plants are great indoor as well as outdoors. Outdoors, they attract beneficial energy towards the house and indoors, they symbolize Nature and harmony. Fresh flowers also improve the energy in the house. Take care that sick and dying plants are removed from the house. Artificial, i.e. plastic or silk plants and flowers, can also be effective as long as they are kept dusted and clean. Dry flower arrangements such as potpourri, etc. should be avoided. Plants that have thorns, such as cactus and roses, are better kept outdoors where they symbolize protection. Plants and creepers are also useful for softening sharp corners and reducing the effect of poison arrows.

Household pets also help to circulate positive energy in the house and in reducing stress. Caring and nurturing plants has a therapeutic effect. Feng Shui practitioners recommend keeping an aquarium or fish bowl for promoting wealth and prosperity in a house. As long as the fish are healthy and the aquarium is kept as clean as possible, placing an aquarium can bring about dramatic results.
