USE OF MIRRORS AS PER FENG SHUI

Mirrors are possibly the most useful Feng Shui cure and are used by Vastu practitioners in a number of ways. Mirrors are used to balance a room which has an irregular shape. Mirrors can make a room look larger, they can brighten spaces and if used cleverly, they can create optical illusions. Mirror a long, narrow corridor and you can double the visual width of the corridor. This is also a good idea for small bathrooms, halls, narrow rooms and small shops.

Mirrors can be used to disguise areas, such as a toilet too near a main entrance. Mirrors can also deflect poison arrows back. Mirrors can be hung beside windows to attract more natural light and energy into the room. If the reflected image is one of nature like trees, mountains or water, this is most beneficial.

Mirrors should be used carefully in bedrooms as they must not reflect the bed itself. They should also not reflect the toilet5 or front door.

While installing mirrors take care that the mirrors are of high quality without any distortion. Mirrors must not chop off the heads of the tallest members of the family. It is better to use a single length mirror rather than mirror tiles or decorative mirrors as they have a netting effect. Keep your mirrors clean. Dust and dirt reduces the effectiveness of mirrors.

A pa-kua mirror, i. e. a mirror within a bagua octagon with trigrams on the outside, is used in Feng Shui to deflect poison arrows like the protruding corner of another building, a road thrusting directly into your property or a big tree opposite your main gate. The pa-kua mirror is suitable for use only outside the house.
