The East and northeast side is usually favoured for the entrance of a flat. According to Vastu Shastra for flats, the presence of the entrance in such directions attracts positive energies, peace, and good luck.

The ground floor, first, second, third, and fourth floor are the best floors to live in according to Vastu. Any apartments above the fourth floor are devoid of water elements which creates a tussle in a relationship. So, it's better to avoid those floors as per Vastu.

South-facing homes are generally considered inauspicious and get the bad rap many times due to the belief that Lord Yama, the God of Death, lives in the dakshina or South direction. However, the truth is Vastu Shastra does not specify a direction as being good or bad.
