According to Hindu beliefs, keeping an idol of Lord Ganesha in the house is considered auspicious. It is often seen that after worshiping in the new house, an idol of Ganesha is placed at the main door. While it is not right to do so. But some people do this out of ignorance. We tell you when it is auspicious and fruitful to put the idol of Lord Ganesha at the main door.

The Idol Should Be Placed in The Direction Of The Main Door

According to Vastu, if the main door of your house is in the south or north direction, then you should place the idol of Ganesha at the main door. The idol of Ganesha should not be installed if the main door is in the east or west direction.

According to Vastu Shastra, it is inauspicious to put a picture of Ganesha outside the house. However, Ganesh ji's picture should not be put in all places even inside the house. The idol of Ganesha should not be placed on such walls in the house which are attached to the wall of the bathroom and toilet. By doing this you may have to face adverse consequences. It is most auspicious to install the idol of Ganesha in the temple of the house.

It is inauspicious to put the statue and idol of Ganesha outside the house. By placing an idol outside the house, Ganesh ji acts as a gatekeeper and it is inauspicious to do so. To get the blessings of Ganesh ji, Ganesh ji should be established in the temple of the house. By doing this you will get the blessings of Ganapati Maharaj.
