PLANTING OF TREES AS PER VASTU SHASTRA

Vastu Shastra, an ancient Indian science of architecture and buildings, emphasizes the importance of direction and the type of trees planted around a home for bringing positivity, prosperity, and well-being to the inhabitants. Here’s a brief overview of auspicious trees according to Vastu Shastra and the directions they are best suited for:

1. East Direction:

• Tulsi (Holy Basil): Considered very auspicious when planted in the east, Tulsi is known for its spiritual and medicinal properties. It is believed to bring health and happiness to the household.

2. North-East Direction:

• Banana Tree: Planting a banana tree in the north-east direction is considered good for spiritual growth and health.

• Neem Tree: Known for its medicinal properties, a neem tree in the north-east is believed to bring health benefits to the inhabitants.

3. North Direction:

• Money Plant: While not a tree, the money plant when placed in the north direction is believed to attract wealth and prosperity.

4. North-West Direction:

• Peepal Tree (Ficus religiosa): It is advised to plant Peepal tree in the north-west but not too close to the house as its large roots can damage structures. It is considered sacred and is associated with various deities in Hinduism.

5. South-West Direction:

• Pakad Tree (Ficus virens): Planting in the south-west is recommended for stability and growth. However, care should be taken to plant it at some distance from the house due to its expansive root system.

6. West Direction:

• Amla Tree (Indian Gooseberry): An Amla tree in the west direction is considered to promote health and longevity.

While Vastu recommends planting certain trees in specific directions, it is equally important to consider practical aspects such as the tree’s growth habits, root system, and the space available in your property to avoid structural damage. Additionally, it’s advisable to consult with a Vastu expert for personalized recommendations based on your specific situation and layout of the property.
