SURYA MUDRA

The Surya Mudra is a yogic hand gesture known for its potential to support fat burning by boosting metabolism and improving digestion. It's also called the Agni Mudra or Sun Mudra. By activating the fire element in the body, Surya Mudra is believed to help the body burn calories more efficiently and transform stored fat into energy.

How to perform Surya Mudra:

Sit comfortably: Choose a relaxed sitting position with a straight spine.

Position your hands: Place your hands on your knees or thighs.

Form the mudra: Bend your ring finger to meet the base of your thumb on both hands, while keeping the other fingers extended.

Practice: Hold the mudra for 15-30 minutes daily.

Other mudras that may support weight loss:

Linga Mudra:

This mudra, also called the "heat gesture", can generate heat in the body, potentially aiding in calorie burning and metabolism, says a post on Yoga Teacher Training School. It's performed by interlacing fingers, keeping one thumb upright, and wrapping the other thumb around it.

Prithvi Mudra:

This mudra balances the earth element in the body, which may help remove excess fat and promote a leaner physique, according to Bajaj Allianz. It's performed by touching the tip of the thumb and ring finger together.

Apana Mudra (Detox Mudra):

This mudra is believed to aid digestion, improve gut health, and help flush out toxins.
