Panchshila Sthapana Vidhi The Panchshila Sthapana Vidhi is a sacred ritual dedicated to laying or installing the five foundational pillars (Panchshila). Most commonly, this involves placing five bricks or stones in the northeast corner of a new home or construction site to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, Vastu Purusha, and the Panchabhutas (the five natural elements). 🛠️ Required Materials • 5 Clay/Brick Sthapana Blocks (or consecrated stones) • Puja Thali containing: o Kumkum (vermilion) and Haldi (turmeric) o Akshat (raw, unbroken rice) o Gangajal (holy water) o Supari (betel nuts), raw cloves, and cardamoms o Mauli (red sacred thread) o Flowers, incense (agarbatti), and a brass Diya (oil lamp) o Seasonal fruits or sweets (Naivedya) 🗓️ Step-by-Step Vidhi 1. Preparation (Shuddhi): Thoroughly clean the northeast corner of your plot or foundation. Purify the space by sprinkling Gangajal. 2. Kalash Sthapana: Place a small copper or brass pot (Kalash) filled with water, a betel nut, a coin, and five mango leaves. Top it with a coconut wrapped in a red cloth and tie mauli around its neck. 3. Ganesha Puja: Begin the ritual by invoking Lord Ganesha. Apply kumkum to the idol or the designated spot, offer fresh flowers, light the diya, and offer sweets to ensure a hurdle-free construction process. 4. Consecration of the Panchshila: o Take the five bricks or stones. o Apply a tilak of haldi, kumkum, and a drop of Gangajal to each one. o Tie the Mauli thread around each brick. 5. Placement: Dig a small pit in the northeast corner. Place the five bricks inside in a cross or square shape. 6. Aahuti & Prayers: Offer prayers to the Vastu Purusha and the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space). Sprinkle Akshat over the installed bricks and offer incense and fruits. 7. Final Aarti: Conclude the installation by singing the Aarti, distributing the Prasad, and seeking blessings for a prosperous, safe, and positive dwelling.
