VASTU AND FENG SHUI
Old Indian
masters believed that entire universe is made of five elements-Sky, Air, Fire,
Water and Earth. Vastu Shastra emphasizes directions to be the basis of its
system.
Broadly
speaking the five elements mentioned above are in fact wide ranging
combinations of now known basic elements, the actual contents of all existing
matter, including living beings. Consequently these elements are part and
parcel of our environment and may become a consideration for framing rules of
Vastu Shastra.
Chinese Five
Elements: Chinese consider Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water as the basic
elements of which everything is made of. In this sequence Fire, Earth and Water
are common in both the systems and Wood and Metal has been substituted for Sky
and Air.
It is the
harmonious use of all the elements in balance which could give beneficial
results, because no single element could give good results in isolation. Nature
has Creative and Destructive cycles, and so is the case with these elements.
In the
creative cycles, Fire converts things in to Earth (ash), Earth gives metallic
minerals, Metals could be liquefied into fluids like Water, Water nourishes
Wood and Wood is source of Fire. In this way cycle goes on.
In the
negative or destructive cycle, Wood takes away Earth’s energy, which blocks
Water, extinguishes Fire, Fire melts Metal and Wood is cut by Metal.
My
Tip
Amalgamation
of Two Systems: As
could have been perceived by now that the Chinese system also is scientific thus,
what is the trouble in amalgamating the two systems for better results?
A house may
be constructed following the rules of Vastu Shastra and could be interiorly
decorated according to the Chinese system. This type of combination would make
a perfect establishment.
