VASTU FOR STRAIGHT PLOTS
East facing plot is good for scholars,
philosophers, priests, professors, teachers etc. The logic-East (Morning
sunrays) is considered the source of enlightenment.
North facing plot is good for those in power,
administration, and those who work for government.
South facing plot is good for business class
and for those who work in business organisation at management level.
West facing plot is more suitable for those who
provide supporting services to society.
VASTU GUIDELINE FOR SITE SOIL
To construct a building for any purpose land is
required. It should be correctly noted as to what purpose it was allotted
previously. There are different types of soil based on the colour-brick red, brown,
yellow, dark brown, yellow soil etc. is also good for the foundation of a building.
Whereas black and clayey soil which is not good for cultivation is also not
good for building as it retains water and can cause to the foundation.
It is advised to avoid a site with black and
clayey soil. The reason being the black soil indicates the soil that retains water
and does not allow good drainage. It is best to avoid such a site because it
will require special kind of foundation and waterproofing which will cost many
times more than the usual foundation.
Again, avoid rocky piece of land for
construction purpose. Land with too many rocks and thorny trees is not
considered good is not considered good. This is because it may be an indication
that there is rock below which we will have to be blasted out before laying the
foundation, causing unexpected expenditure.
A land with lot of worms should be avoided as this
may be an indication that the soil is very loose and will not support the
foundation well.
ENVIRONMENT OR SURROUNDINGS OF THE PLOT
Plots that are fertile with plants and
greeneries are very good.
A river or big canal in North side and if water
from west to east, it is good.
Similarly, if the canal is on the east side of
the plot with water flowing from south to north, it is good.
Plots with rivers or canal flowing on west or
south side of the plot should be avoided.
Hills, rocks, mounds of earth, big boulders etc.
on the Southern, south-west and western sides of the plot are good, in other
sides it may hamper the progress.
There should be no graveyard, cemetery, or tomb
adjacent to the plot or in front and back side of the plot.
Location of a public place of worship near the
plot affects the inmates. Such place on the right side of a plot can cause
material loss , on left side may bring grief and sorrow, in front can obstruct
progress and if they are 100 feet apart , those disastrous results are
minimised.
Similarly avoid having plot near cinema
theatres, schools, and colleges.
OBSTRUCTION IN FRONT GATE OF THE PLOT
Big tree: obstruction to the progress of
children
Gutter or Ditch: Grief.
Pointing corner of another building: Mental
unrest.
Water drainage: Draining of income due to
unexpected expenses.
Straight street: Affects longevity of inmates.
Dilapidated house or wall: Affects prosperity.
Staircase railings: May cause sadness.
Pillars, Electric and telephone Post: Affects
female.
SURROUNDINGS AND NEIGHBOURS
The surroundings of our neighbouring houses on
all sides also affect us.
High rising tall buildings should not be there in
the Northeast side of the plot because they may cause mental unrest. However,
if they are located in south, South-West or western sides then it will be
auspicious to the buyer of the new plot or house.
Do not purchase a smaller plot in between two
neighbouring big plots. Similarly, do not buy a smaller house, which exists
between two tall buildings. This may make the buyer poorer day by day.
Getting rid of Shalya dosh
If the soil is found defective, it must be
purified or cleansed before starting any construction on the plot.
SIZE AND SHAPE OF THE PLOT
Square shaped plot is very auspicious. It
brings health, wealth, and happiness.
Rectangular plot is good and brings all round prosperity.
Circular shaped plot is good for constructing
circular building only.
Wheel shaped plot owner may lose financial
status and face poverty.
Irregular shaped plot can cause all types of
problems and poverty.
Triangular shaped plot can affect progress and
cause problems from government.
Panchmukhi shaped plot should not be inhabited
before making it a rectangular plot otherwise, it will bring litigations and
false allegations.
Octagonal plot is auspicious and will bring all
round prosperity.
Simha Mukhi plot is not good for residential
purpose. Is auspicious for business.
Gaumukhi plot is auspicious if the roads are
there in southern and western sides of the plot.
DIAGONAL PLOTS
The plots in which the major directions fall in
the corner are known as diagonal plots. As a result, the magnetic meridian
instead of passing through the centre of the plot makes an angle of 45 degrees with
the main axis of the plot.
Diagonal plots can have roads on North-East,
the North-West, the South-East, and the South-Westsides. Amongst these plots
with road in the North-East side are considered auspicious by vastu shastra. The
North-West and South-East side ones are of medium level. The ones in South-West
are useful for certain business ventures but these should never be taken for
residential purpose.
The diagonal plots with roads on two, three or
four sides give mixed results. However, south-west side should not be used as
entrance.
UTILITY FOR THE ROAD
North-East road: Residence, Temple, School.,
Library, Shop and Factories.
North-west road: Residence, agricultural
purpose, Showroom for vehicles and garage.
South-East road: Hotels, residence, Courts,
business run by women, entertainment, factories etc.
South-West road: Hardware, tyre, permit room, accident
hospitals, and orthopaedics.
