A] Directions As Per Vastu Shastra

1. East Direction

The east compass direction of Vastu marks the end of darkness and the start of light, signifying life and health. It points towards success and knowledge and is renowned for fulfilling prayers and desires. This space is ideal for a living room, study room, meditation, or prayer room. If there is Vastu dosha in the east, it may lead to a decrease in income, hinder educational progress, and affect health.

2. West Direction

The west side marks the direction of sunset representing the end of light and the beginning of darkness. This direction is ruled by the God of Oceans. Individuals residing in a west-facing house are known to have an unsuccessful life, mainly drowned in debt and suffering throughout their lives. Though individuals are working hard, they are not getting the desired results. 3. North Direction

The north direction is considered auspicious as it is ruled by Lord Dhanlakshmi. The scientific reason is because the earth’s electromagnetic power centre is active in this direction. Additionally, the north receives the maximum impact of ultraviolet rays from the rising sun in the morning. Therefore, it is advisable to have more open and low spaces in the north.

4. South Direction

The south direction, despite its negative origins, can be beneficial. Building a home in this direction can bring significant income for the initial three to four years, fostering rapid economic progress and multiple opportunities. However, after this period, the inflow of money may slow down, creating a stable situation. Now, a crisis cycle may begin, leading to economic losses from both personal and business perspectives.

5. North-East (Ishan) Direction

The north-east direction according to Vastu is very worshipable, happy, and fame-giving as it’s ruled by Ish Tattva. The northeast direction holds significance as the direction associated with gods, while the southwest is linked to demons. Since it’s ruled by God, it is filled with virtues such as knowledge, abundance of money, wisdom, prosperity, and good luck.

6. North-West (Vayavya) Direction

The northwest direction is the busiest area, connecting all elements in a room. Aligning with wind/air keeping doors and windows open in the morning helps maintain balance. Believed to fulfil desires, the Vastu for flatis perfect for areas like the sales and marketing department, meeting room, living room, and dining room.

7. South-East Direction

The southeast direction, situated at 45 degrees between east and south, holds the fire element in Vastu Shastra. As per Vedic Vastu Shastra, this direction is aligned with Agni and represents energy, progress, signifying speed in life and household. An entrance in the southeast direction can attract substantial income, though the management of finances can be a challenge, impacting the earned wealth. 

8. South-West

As the name suggests, this direction is in the middle between south and west. Rahu influences the southwest direction and if it’s unbalanced, it might attract negative energy, causing a feeling of fear. This can lead to increased passion and a desire to face challenges boldly in family and business matters. In this direction, individuals develop qualities such as patience, tolerance, stubbornness, self-confidence, and strong decision-making skills.
