Vastu is the science and art of exploring human potential through built up environment. Vastu identifies the purpose of building and defines the planning and design of building to achieve the same. The Vedic study of impact of built-up environment on life is called Vastu- Shastra. Vastu means ‘suitable building for dwelling’ and Shastra means study. In contemporary usage vastu means designing or “correcting” buildings as per Vastu Shastra.
