EFFECTS OF SEWER LINE AND LAMP POST ON VASTU

In Vastu Shastra, the South side (North in the Southern hemisphere) of a plot is ruled by the fire element and Yama (the god of death/rest), making it a zone that should be kept heavy, high, and closed. A sewer line and a lamp post on the south side are considered significant Vastu doshas (defects) because they create low-level, open, or "active" energy in a zone that requires stability, causing potential financial and health issues.

1. Effect of a Sewer on the South Side (Vastu Dosh), (North in the Southern hemisphere)

  • Financial Instability: A sewer or septic tank in the south or southwest creates a drainage/hollow point, which leads to wealth being wasted or lost easily.
  • Health and Mental Issues: A sewer on the south side can cause mental unrest, anxiety, and, in some cases, serious health issues for the main owner.
  • Relationship Problems: It may cause disputes in the family and social, political, or professional issues.
  • "Vedh" or Obstruction: A drainage pipe passing directly under the main entrance (if it's in the south) is considered very inauspicious.

2. Effect of a Lamp Post on the South Side (North in the Northern hemisphere)

  • Negative Energy Entrance: A lamp post directly in front of the main door acts as an obstruction ("Dwar Vedh").
  • Energy Mismanagement: While lamps represent light, a permanent streetlamp post on the south side can disturb the "fire" energy of the south zone, causing restlessness, disputes, or damage to reputation.

3. Vastu Remedies

If the sewer and lamp post cannot be removed, the following remedies can help minimize the negative impacts:

  • For the Sewer Line/Septic Tank:
    • Paint the Area: Paint the area around the sewer with yellow color to represent the Earth element, helping to neutralize the negative energy.
    • Vastu Pyramids: Install Vastu pyramids around the septic tank to harmonize the energy flow.
    • Metal Separation: If possible, create a metal (specifically copper or lead) strip or a barrier between the sewer line and the main house.
    • Ensure it is Covered: Make sure the septic tank is below the ground level and not creating an elevated mound of garbage.
  • For the Lamp Post:
    • Mirror/Windchime: Place a small convex mirror or a wind chime on the main door to deflect the negative energy coming from the lamp post.
    • Boundary Wall: Ensure there is a strong, high boundary wall on the south side to act as a shield against the negative energy.
    • Copper strip/wire: Bury underground Copper strip vertically or wire along the external side of the rear boundary compound wall.

Recommendations for Proper Alignment

  • Septic Tank: The ideal location for a septic tank is the Northwest (NW) or West-of-Northwest (WNW).
  • Drainage Flow: Turn any existing drainage pipes in the south towards the North or Northeast. (South and Southeast in the Southern hemisphere)
