BALCONY IN THE NORTHWEST AS PER VASTU SHASTRA

A balcony can be located in the Northwest (NW) direction, making it a good and permissible location according to Vastu Shastra. The Northwest represents the air element (Vayu) and provides good ventilation and energy flow. It is generally considered better than a South or Southwest location.

Key Vastu Considerations for a Northwest Balcony:

  • Design & Usage: The North-West corner represents the air element and planet Moon, making it ideal for a well-ventilated balcony.
  • Decor: Use light colours, such as white, light grey, or pastels for the walls to maintain a positive atmosphere.
  • Plants: Keep small, light-weight planters here, such as money plants or air-purifying plants.
  • Furniture: Use lightweight furniture and ensure the area is not cluttered with heavy storage.
  • Roofing: The balcony roof should be lower than the main house roof and preferably slope towards the North or East.

Best Direction Alternatives:
While the northwest is fine, the
North, East, or North-East are generally considered the best locations to maximize positive sunlight and energy.

Remedies for Wrongly Placed Balconies:
If you have a balcony in the Southwest that you are concerned about, it is suggested to keep heavy, solid furniture there and use heavy, thick plants.
