TOILET LAUNDRY LINEN IN THE
EASTERN ZONE
SWAP NORTH AND SOUTH DIRECTIONS
FOR THE SOUTHERN HENISPHERE
As per Vastu Shastra, placing toilets in the East is strictly advised
against. However, a plain bath space, your laundry, and a linen room can work
in the East if their specific sub-zones are respected. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Overview of Placements in the East
- Bath & Toilet: Not Recommended. The
East and North-East (SE of Southern hemisphere) are sacred zones for
health and prosperity, making toilets a major Vastu defect that can cause
financial and health issues. The ideal locations for toilets are
North-West or West.
- Laundry Room: Conditional. Washing
machines should absolutely avoid the North-East, but they are perfectly
situated in the East-Southeast (ESE) sub-zone, which represents
"churning".
- Linen Room: Good. Linen and storage are
ideally kept in the South or West directions. However, placing them in the
East is acceptable as long as they are kept neat and do not block natural
light. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Vastu Guidelines if Placed in the East
If your layout forces these rooms into the eastern portion of your home,
follow these Vastu modifications to minimize negative energy: [1,
2]
- Bathroom: Ensure the toilet seat faces
North or South. Keep the drain and water outlets flowing towards the North
or East.
- Laundry: Keep the washing machine in the
East-South-East (ESE) corner rather than the true North-East.
- Linen Storage: Locate your linen cabinets
or almirahs along the Southern or Western wall of the East room so that
the doors open to the North or East. [1, 2, 3]
