Calculating the Brahmasthan (central, sacred energy point) of a house with a swimming pool.

Calculating the Brahmasthan (central, sacred energy point) of a house with a swimming pool requires

considering the total plot area, especially if the pool is uncovered and outside the main construction. The Brahmasthan must remain open, clean, and unobstructed by heavy structures or water bodies.

Here is the step-by-step process to calculate the Brahmasthan, incorporating a swimming pool:

1. Define the Total Plot Boundaries

  • Obtain a scaled map of the entire property (house, garden, and swimming pool area).
  • Ensure the map is aligned with the four cardinal directions (North, South, East, West).

2. Standardize the Shape

  • If the plot is irregular, draw imaginary lines to extend the boundary into a perfect rectangle or square.
  • Include all external amenities (like the swimming pool) within this total area calculation.

3. Apply the 64-Module Grid (Grid Method)

  • Divide the entire plot (inclusive of the pool) into 64 equal parts, or modules (an 8x8 grid).
  • Draw 7 lines north-to-south and 7 lines east-to-west, dividing the plot into 64 equal squares or rectangles.
  • The Brahmasthan: The four central squares located at the intersection of the grid (rows 4 and 5, columns 4 and 5) represent the Brahmasthan.

4. Locate the Centre (Alternative Method)

  • Draw diagonal lines from the Northeast to Southwest corners and Southeast to Northwest corners.
  • The intersecting point of these diagonals is the geometric centre, or Brahmasthan.

5. Evaluate the Swimming Pool Placement

  • The Golden Rule: The swimming pool should never be located in the centre (Brahmasthan).
  • Ideal Locations: The pool should ideally be placed in the Northeast (Ishan corner), East, or North of the plot.
  • Correction: If the pool encroaches on the central 25% (the 4 center modules), it is considered a Vastu defect that may cause energy imbalances.

Summary of Vastu Considerations

  • Brahmasthan Status: It must remain light, open, and free of heavy structures, including the water weight of a pool.
  • Pool Position: If the pool is outside, measure from the centre of the total plot. If it is an indoor, in-basement pool, measure from the centre of the foundation.

Remedies: If the pool is in the centre or a negative zone (South/Southwest), remedies often include using copper or crystal pyramids or creating separation with partition walls, though professional Vastu consultation is recommended.
